PSG -1

Reason for tip

PSG have covered a -1 handicap in seven of their last 12 home Ligue 1 matches. Luis Enrique’s side is likely to be stronger than in their 4-1 win at Lorient last weekend. Le Havre are in poor overall form and lost 3-0 at Lille back in February, which may be indicative of how this game will go.

PSG 3-1

Reason for tip

Both teams have scored in PSG’s last nine home league fixtures, including 3-1 wins over Metz and Lille. Luis Enrique’s side have won each of their last three matches in all competitions by scores of 4-1 but Le Havre, who have scored and conceded in four of their last six away Ligue 1 games, have not conceded more than three in a game all season.

PSG primed to clinch another French title

Paris Saint-Germain can clinch a third straight Ligue 1 title and their 12th overall with a victory over lowly Le Havre at Parc des Princes on Saturday.

Their supporters will expect to see Luis Enrique’s side assert their dominance over the struggling visitors, who are third-bottom and in a poor run of form.  Enrique rested five key players from his squad last weekend as PSG maintained their 11-point lead over Monaco with a 4-1 win at Lorient.

It was not as comfortable as the scoreline suggests, but with Achraf Hakimi, Warren Zaire-Emery, Vitinha, Marquinhos and Bradley Barcola all due to return to the fold, PSG should put Le Havre away in the first hour before powering down in preparation for next week’s Champions League semi-final first-leg in Dortmund.

Safer to back Paris to cover

PSG have been far from perfect at home of late, drawing four of their last six matches in the French capital, but Enrique will have them fully focused on completing the job in hand here.

Le Havre have lost eight of their last 10 Ligue matches and appear to be sinking back towards the second flight.  They have failed to score in three of their last four matches, although they were all at home and Luka Elsner’s side have been regularly finding the net on the road.

Both teams to score could be a play here if PSG’s record of conceding – and scoring – in their last nine league games continues, but backing the hosts to cover a -1 handicap appears the safer option at a similar price.
