Can Sociedad register back-to-back wins

Real Sociedad have been in patchy form this season, but they beat Omonia Nicosia 2-1 in the Europa League on Thursday night, one of three successive home games in which both teams have scored.

Imanol Alguacil’s side, who were beaten 2-1 by Getafe in their last La Liga outing, have won four of their seven games so far, scoring in each outing.

They have also been unlucky in having some pretty tough fixtures at Anoeta early on, losing to Barcelona and drawing with Atletico Madrid, but have lost just three of their last 12 at home.

Espanyol struggling early doors

Espanyol have lost three of their last four matches and sat in 15th place in La Liga at the conclusion of match day five, picking up just four points so far.

Both teams have scored in three of those outings, including a 3-2 home defeat to Sevilla last weekend, while they have only kept one clean sheet so far.

It has therefore not been a vintage start for new manager Diego Martínez, although his side have failed to score in just one of their matches.

I predict that both teams will score in this game, but I think Real Sociedad will get over the line, with a 2-1 win my correct score prediction.
