Reims to Win

Reason for tip

It is hard to look past Reims in this one, even if they have suffered two consecutive defeats. They are facing a side who have beaten only once in the last six attempts and that have won just once at the Stade Auguste-Delaune II, suggesting they have a great chance to bounce back against Strasbourg.

Reims 1-0

Reason for tip

All of Reims’ home wins this term have come to nil and they should be strong enough to keep a clean sheet against their 13th-placed visitors. Strasbourg have won only one of their last seven away matches, but they do not concede many, letting in just two goals in their last three games, so a 1-0 home victory looks likely.

Strasbourg’s struggles set to continue

Reims were a shock package in Ligue 1 last season with manager Will Still receiving plenty of justified plaudits, and they are beginning to prove that form towards the end of the previous campaign was not a flash in the pan as they are fifth in France’s top flight this time around.

They have lost games two in a row, but those matches have come against champions PSG and a strong Rennes side, with Friday’s meeting with Strasbourg rating a far easier assignment.

The visitors have beaten Reims just once in their last six meetings and they have only ever won one match at the Stade Auguste-Delaune II.

This looks a perfect oppurtunity for Still’s men to bounce back following their back-to-back losses.

Le Racing on track for another away defeat

Strasbourg have won only one of their last seven away matches and have lost three of their last five on the road to nil.

Those trio of goalless losses came against Monaco, Nice and PSG, Ligue 1’s top three sides, suggesting they may struggle against fifth-placed Reims on Friday.

The hosts have been in mixed form at home this term, winning three and losing three of their six matches at the Stade Auguste-Delaune II, however context is needed for those results.

Their trio of defeats came against top seven sides while their wins have all come to nil when welcoming bottom-half teams to their own patch, suggesting they should brush Strasbourg aside with relative aside on Friday.
