Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Juventus have averaged one goal per game in their last five away league games while Roma have scored exactly once for three home Serie A matches in a row. The Giallorossi are a bit hit-and-miss in defence of late, but they are likely to tighten up after Leverkusen’s win and might settle for a draw to right the ship.

Roma vs Juventus Predictions

Juve are struggling to win on the road

On Sunday at the Stadio Olimpico, Roma could be distracted enough by their upcoming Europa League semi-final clash in Leverkusen to drop points against a Juventus side that have been unconvincing on their travels.

The Bianconeri stopped looking like the team to beat in Italy a long time ago and their away form is where their title dreams first began to fray. Massimiliano Allegri’s side looked on course to take the Scudetto after winning six and drawing one of seven road trips between October and late January, but a 1-0 defeat to Inter in the first week of February had catastrophic consequences for their challenge.

Juve have since taken only three points from a possible 15 outside of their home with all of those points collected in draws against Verona, Torino and Cagliari – a mid-table trio they would have beaten a few weeks before.

Allegri unlikely to spring any surprises

Winless in four, they catch a break with the scheduling of this trip to face Roma because Daniele De Rossi’s side are slap bang between two massive Europa League semi-final clashes with Bayer Leverkusen.

The first one did not go well as the Bundesliga champions took a 2-0 advantage away from the Eternal City. Xabi Alonso did a number on De Rossi with his team selection and tactics, but the Italian tactician is likely to have seen everything Allegri has up his sleeve before.

A draw looks likely here and it may not necessarily have goals in it with Juve failing to score in two of their last three away league games and Roma coming off a match where they failed to register too. That said, there is enough attacking talent in both squads for the points to be shared after a 1-1 stalemate.
