Dinamo can open new season with a win

The Russian Premier League begins this weekend and FC Rostov entertain Dinamo Moscow in the first game of the new campaign on Friday.

Rostov finished in mid-table last season with 43 points from 30 games.  Their home form was an issue with seven losses in their 15 home games, with six wins and two draws.

Dinamo will be looking to improve this term after missing out on the European spots last time out.  The Moscow club were involved in the fight for a top five finish for much of the season but a run of just two wins in their last seven games saw them miss out by three points.

Dinamo’s away form last year wasn’t particularly impressive as they registered just five wins but three of those came in their final five games in what could be viewed as an encouraging sign ahead of the 2021-22 season.

Rostov have had a tough pre-season with just three wins in eight games, losing four and drawing once.   Dinamo have an identical record but have faced a higher standard of opposition and we feel they should be able to open the new campaign with a victory at the Rostov Arena.

Two of Dinamo’s last three wins have been accompanied by clean sheets, and we think a 2-0 win for the visitors has a chance in the correct score market.
