- Rotherham are now within three points of safety following their 3-1 victory here against QPR on Tuesday night.
- Coventry are without a win in their last eight away trips, losing six.
- The Sky Blues have lost 13 of their 20 starts on the road this season, winning just two.
Momentum can see Millers through
Rotherham have to play just two days after their 3-1 victory here over QPR, but momentum could see the Millers through this Thursday’s relegation six-pointer against the Sky Blues.
Paul Warne’s side ended a run of five straight home defeats to beat the Superhoops on Tuesday evening and the result moved them to within three points of Coventry, who remained fourth bottom after their 4-1 weekend hiding at Bournemouth.
That marked City’s 13th away defeat from 20 starts this season (W2, D5), so Rotherham have to be fancied for this clash despite the rapid turnaround which they have to cope with.
The hosts also have a game in hand on their opponents and know that they’ll be in control of their own destiny in terms of survival should they claim maximum points here.
Fitness concerns about Rotherham are clearly factored into their price, however, odds of around 6/4 for a home success make plenty of appeal based on Coventry’s travelling woes and the fact that Mark Robins’ men will be under maximum pressure in South Yorkshire to keep the Millers at arms- length.
