Sao Paulo vs Corinthians Betting Tips

Sao Paulo

      Tip Reasoning

Sao Paulo are in relatively good form at the moment, but their season long inconsistency is the thing stopping them from pushing further up the pecking order in the Brazilian Serie A.

They have won 3 of their last 5 games, but had only won 1 of their 5 games previous to that. This makes it 4 wins, 4 defeats, and 2 draws in their last 10 Serie A matches.

This leaves them in 7th position in the league, with 27 points from their 16 league matches so far. They are only 8 points off the top spot though, and a win could take them as high as 3rd position.

One interesting side story for this match is the tale of Jadson and Alexandre Pato. Jadson moved to Corinthians in a permanent deal in February, with Alexandre Pato moving the other way on a 10 month loan deal.

Both players are the top scorers in the Serie A for their respective teams, with Pato having 7 goals for Sao Paulo and Jadson netting 6 times for Corinthians, so it will be interesting to see which one comes out on top on Sunday.

Corinthians excellent form over the past few months has seen them rocket up the table, and they now sit in 2nd position just 2 points behind leaders Atletico MG.

This is thanks to the fact that they have won 6 of their last 8 Serie A games, with the other 2 being draws.

In fact, they have only lost once in their last 11 outings in the league, which more than makes up for their disappointing start to the campaign.

Corinthians have been excellent recently, and I fancy them to take the victory on Sunday. However, the home advantage isn’t in their favour, so I think a Corinthians Win (Draw No Bet) at 5/4 are very good value.
