Southampton vs Swansea Betting Tips

Southampton managed to get over their 3-2 defeat against Manchester United pretty quickly, taking to the field on Wednesday to decimate MK Dons in the Capital One Cup.

The game ended 6-0 in Southampton’s favour, with Jay Rodriguez, Sadio Mane, and Shane Long all scoring a brace.

When you add Graziano Pelle’s double against Manchester United into the mix, and it looks like Southampton’s attacking players are starting to fire.

They have still only won once in the Premier League this season though, with a 3-0 defeat of Norwich being the only three pointer they have managed. They have lost against Everton and Manchester United, drawing the remaining three games.

But there performance against Manchester United was good, for the most part, and their follow up at MK Dons will have been a big morale boost ahead of Swansea’s visit.

They are still without Fraser Forster, Florin Gardos, Jordy Clasie, and Gaston Ramirez though, whilst Swansea have a clean bill of health.

But the visitors seem to have gone off the boil since their impressive start to the season. They have lost two of their last three games in all competitions, drawing the other one against Everton.

This includes a 1-0 loss to Hull in midweek to send them out of the League Cup, and this defeat also made it three games on the bounce without a goal for Swansea.

They have looked a far different side than the one that beat Manchester United and Newcastle earlier in the season and drew at Stamford Bridge.

I’m expecting Southampton to take advantage of the visitors poor form on Saturday and take the three points, and odds of 1/1 for this outcome look really profitable to me. Considering each of the last three meetings between these sides have ended 1-0, I’m also backing a 1-0 correct score at 6/1.
