      SPAL vs Napoli Predictions

SPAL lost 2-0 away at Cagliari last weekend and will be looking forward to returning to more familiar surroundings on Saturday where they have won two of their last three league games. Napoli played out a five-goal thriller in midweek where they secured all three points in the Champions League against Salzburg but may be forced to rotate their starting eleven this weekend to avoid fatigue.

All of the stats heading into SPAL vs Napoli suggest that this game won’t produce a lot of goals and we’ve backed under 2.5 to be scored and have predicted a final scoreline of 1-1.

SPAL have never beaten Napoli before and have only managed to draw one of the pairs six encounters, but under 2.5 goals have been produced in four of the pairs’ six previous meetings and Napoli drew their last match after a European tie, away at Torino 0-0, so you can start to see why we’ve backed a 1-1 draw this weekend.

The performances of both clubs during the last month or so also adds weight to our prediction for a low-scoring game on Saturday, as under 2.5 goals were produced in SPAL’s last three matches as well as in four of Napoli’s last six outings, but SPAL have scored in each of their last five home games and that’s why a 1-1 draw looks the most likely outcome on Sunday.

SPAL have won two of their last three home games, while Napoli have drawn two of their last three away games, both of which produced under 2.5 goals, and we’re expecting another tight and tense ninety minutes on Sunday and believe SPAL can claim a valuable point in their own backyard. However, Napoli are unbeaten in their last five games in all competition, so it’s difficult to see SPAL securing their first-ever win against Napoli this weekend but the hosts are in with a good chance of earning a draw.

We’re confident that under 2.5 goals will be produced in Sunday’s match and we have predicted a final scoreline of 1-1. SPAL are battling it out at the other end of the table compared to their guests but have performed well at home in recent weeks, while Napoli have struggled for results following European games but haven’t lost in five matches which is why a draw feels like the most likely result on Sunday.
