Sporting Gijon vs Sevilla Betting Tips & Predictions

Sporting’s Estadio Municipal El Molinón has one of the best atmosphere’s in the league and it is sure to be buzzing on Wednesday given they have only 5 games to stay alive in the top flight and avoid immediate relegation. They picked up a respectable point that could prove a very handy one with their 1-1 draw at Las Palmas at the weekend. They are in 18th place just 1 point shy of safety however a run of just 1 win in 12 games is concerning. Ironically that win came at home to 2nd placed Atletico Madrid and if they can recreate that mood here, they will fancy they can pull off a massive and much-needed win particularly given their next game is at Camp Nou.

Sevilla are still to record a league away win this season which is almost incredible given the talent they possess and how they have played for much of the season at home. They haven’t been in the most convincing form though and come into this match following defeats against Valencia and Athletic Bilbao followed by a disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Deportivo La Coruna at the weekend. They are in 7th place but with an 8 point cushion on Malaga, the side below them, they should qualify for Europe even if they fail to win either cup competition they are still involved in.

The games are piling up though and Unai Emery is going to have to make sacrifices somewhere and it may well be here where he opts to make wholesale changes. They have a huge local derby with Real Betis at the weekend followed by a Europa League Semi Final away at Shakhtar on Thursday so this would appear the least important game of the trio and that could be good news for Sporting. Given that and given Sevilla’s awful away record backing Sporting Gijon or Draw Double Chance at 13/20 looks like a very safe bet.
