Stjarnan vs Fh Predictions
Stjarnan’s Iceland Urvalsdeild title was taken away from them last season as they slumped to an unimpressive league campaign, allowing FH to reclaim the title again and leaving Stjarnan to finish 4th.
However, the deposed champions have begun this season with much more intent. Four games in and they are leading the table, albeit only on goal difference at the moment. They are also just a point above FH in 3rd, so a defeat on Monday could send them as low as 4th in the table.
Their last outing on Tuesday saw them draw 1-1 with KR away from home, but prior to that they had won all three matches in the Urvalsdeild and scored ten goals in the process.
FH won their opening two matches against Throttur and IA before being defeated away from home against KR. They managed to get back to winning ways last week with a 2-0 victory at home to Fjolnir though.
This should be a tight match, but Stjarnan will be confident of at least retaining their lead over FH. At home they have won their last four Urvalsdeild matches and scored a ridiculous 16 goals in the process. In all competitions they have won nine of their last 11 and seen some insanely high scoring matches including an 8-0 win and a 6-1 defeat.
Their most recent home match saw them beat Throttur 6-0, so they certainly know how to find the back of the net. They have seen seven of their last eight home matches have at least three goals scored, whilst FH have seen three of their last five away days end with at least three goals scored.
18 of the last 20 meetings between Stjarnan and FH have also resulted in at least three goals being scored, so odds of 4/5 for Over 2.5 Goals look incredibly good value. I’m backing that alongside a 3-1 win for the hosts at huge odds of 20/1.
