Stuttgart too strong for misfiring Mainz

Stuttgart entertain Mainz in the Bundesliga on Sunday as the hosts look to respond to a 3-2 DfB Pokal defeat to league leaders Bayer Leverkusen.

VfB sit in third spot in the Bundesliga table and should be able to win fairly comfortably against a Mainz side who are in the automatic relegation places and have managed just one win in the league all season.

Stuttgart won the reverse fixture 3-0 earlier in the season and have been in fine scoring form at home, so backing the hosts to cover a -1 handicap appeals as our main bet.

Mainz are winless in 10 games but haven’t been beaten by more than one goal during that run. However, they have only scored four times themselves during that run and VfB have scored at least twice in five of their last six home games in all comps – only failing to do so in a 1-1 draw with Bayer.
