Swansea City vs Fulham Predictions

  • Fulham have won seven of their last nine away Championship matches.
  • Fulham have led at HT and FT in five of their last nine away league contests.
  • Swansea have conceded the opening goal in five of their last eight league games.

Slow-starting Swans could be left to play catch-up

Swansea’s recent tendency to start slowly could prove tough to overcome on Tuesday if Fulham are as faultless as they were at home to Blackburn last weekend.

Marco Silva’s men marched forward relentlessly, establishing a 2-0 lead ten minutes before half-time, and fast starts have become second nature to his Championship leaders. Fulham have led at half-time and the final whistle in five of their last nine away league games – a sequence in which they have also kept six clean sheets.

However, backing the Cottagers to keep another in south Wales is a bit too risky for us given Russell Martin’s men have scored in 11 of their last 12 at the Swansea.com Stadium and have a real gem up front in Michael Obafemi. Likewise, a handicap bet on the visitors also looks fraught with danger as Fulham have won their last two away trips by a solitary goal to nil.

Fulham can find the back of the net twice

Instead, we’ll settle for the double result market value that also ties in with slow-starting Swansea’s recent trait of falling behind. The Swans have conceded the opening goal in five of their last eight league games – something which Martin has spoken openly about tying to rectify.

They raced into a 3-0 lead against Coventry on Saturday to suggest that problem has been overcome, but the Sky Blues have a similar issue and had fallen behind in five of their seven previous league contests.

A 2-1 Fulham win is taken in correct score betting because Silva’s side average just over two goals a game across their last seven roads trips while Swansea have scored exactly once in four of their last seven home games.
