Tottenham Hotspur vs AFC Bournemouth Predictions

Tottenham put in one of the attacking displays of the season on Sunday as they put Everton to the sword at Goodison Park. Mauricio Pocchettino’s men went a goal down to The Toffees, but 70 minutes after Theo Walcott’s 21st minute opener Spurs walked out as 6-2 victors in a demolition job.

This result makes it 4 Premier League wins on the bounce for Spurs, and keeps them hovering in 3rd position in the table as dark horses in the title race. They are now just 2 points adrift of Manchester City and only 6 behind Liverpool.

All of this has come despite the delay to their new stadium, meaning they have only played 7 of their 18 league matches on home soil. 5 of these have ended in victory, including a 3-1 win over Chelsea at the end of November. Their display on Sunday will only serve to enhance confidence in the Spurs camp, and that’s something that Bournemouth have to be worried about.

The Cherries did manage to bounce back from consecutive league defeats at the weekend with a 2-0 win at home to Brighton, but their early season good form has hit a few stumbling blocks recently. Bournemouth have now won just 2 of their last 8 Premier League games, although they remain in a very respectable 8th position in the table with just 2 points between them and Manchester United.

Eddie Howe’s attacking brand of football has won over the neutrals this season, but the fact that they have still conceded more goals than they have scored is a worry. Going forward they are lethal at times, but at the back there is an awful lot of work to be done.

14 of their conceded goals have been won in their 8 away games this term, including a 4-0 demolition at the hands of the out of form Burnley. Still, they have managed to score in 5 of these matches and they’re facing a Spurs side who have only kept 2 clean sheets at home this season.

In fact, 6 of Tottenham’s last 9 home and away league outings have seen them fail to keep a clean sheet, so we’re fully expecting the Cherries to find the net on Wednesday. However, that is unlikely to be enough to stop the juggernaut that is the Spurs attacking force and we’re still expecting a win for the hosts. We’re backing Tottenham to Win and Both Teams to Score along with a 3-1 correct score predictions.

We’re also backing Son Heung-Min to find the net on Boxing Day. The South Korean bagged 2 at the weekend and has now scored 5 goals in his last 6 competitive appearances and has the 3rd best minutes per goal stat in the Spurs squad (1 goal every 148 minutes), so we think he’s a great choice for our anytime goalscorer predictions.
