Sassuolo Double Chance (Win or Draw)

Reason for tip

Udinese have failed to win 12 of their last 13 Serie A games, including their last six at home, while Sassuolo come into this fixture in much better form. The Neroverdi have taken four points from their last two away games, including a 5-2 win at AC Milan, and inflicted a first Serie A defeat since November on Atalanta last weekend.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Udinese have had three 1-1 draws in their last four outings at Dacia Arena. Visitors Sassuolo are well capable of getting a goal, as they have done in their last three away trips, but they have not kept a clean sheet on the road in seven league games.

Udinese vs Sassuolo Predictions

  • Udinese have failed to win 12 of their last 13 Serie A games, including their last six at home
  • Sassuolo have taken four points from their last two away games, including a 5-2 win at AC Milan
  • The Neroverdi inflicted a first Serie  defeat since November on Atalanta last weekend

Sassuolo can keep Udinese on a slippery slope

Udinese’s slide down the Serie A table could continue on Sunday when they host a Sassuolo side that are currently enjoying their best run of results this season. Alessio Dionisi’s men followed up their 5-2 away win over AC Milan with a 1-0 home victory over Atalanta last weekend.

Their opponents had not tasted defeat in the league since November, so Sassuolo should take plenty of confidence from the performance. It was a deserved victory too, secured by summer signing Armand Lauriente’s second goal in two games.

Sassuolo’s main attacking threats remain Domenico Berardi and Gregoire Defrel, but Lauriente is making a name for himself in Serie A now.

Deulofeu blow affects hosts’ potency

Udinese will be desperate to regain some momentum after another poor display at Torino last weekend.  Andrea Sottil must be looking over his shoulder from the dugout to the directors’ box after his team’s run of only one win in 13 Serie A games, which has seen I Bianconeri drop from third to eighth.

He will be deprived of the services of Gerard Deulofeu, whose ability to unlock defences was missed last weekend in Turin, and might even go with the same starting XI – one that produced their lowest xG output since November.

The value is certainly with the improving away side to avoid defeat in this contest and a 1-1 draw might also be a good side bet because Udinese have had three of them in their last four outings at Dacia Arena. Sassuolo are well capable of getting a goal, as they have done in their last three away trips, but they have not kept a clean sheet on the road in seven league games.
