USA vs Martinique Predictions

• The USA have three clean sheets in their last four games.
• The USA have won their last 10 home games.
• Martinique managed just two shots on target in previous game against Canada.

Gold Cup hosts can make it two from two

Minnows Martinique went down 4-1 in their CONCACAF Gold Cup opener and could be in for another difficult game when they face the USA in the second round of fixtures.

The Stars and Stripes took an early lead in their curtain raiser against Haiti but were unable to grab a second and had to settle for a 1-0 win. 

The tournament hosts may have underwhelmed against Haiti, but they should have an easier ride against a Martinique outfit who were well beaten by the Canucks and go into the game on the back of a six-game winless run.

The States have won their last 10 games on American soil, although they did need penalties to beat Mexico in the Nations League, and have scored an incredible 42 goals over the course of those fixtures, conceding just six.

Martinique did take a surprise early lead against Canada but that was as good as it got as they managed just five attempts in total, with two on target.  We can’t see Los Matinino causing the host nation too many problems, and we’re backing a USA win to nil in this match-up.

The USA may only have found the back of the net once against Haiti but they did manage five shots on target and they should be able to grab a few more goals on Friday, so 3-0 stands out as a strong option in the correct score market.
