PSV to grind out final day win

PSV all but mathematically secured a second-place finish in the Eredivisie this season following their midweek 4-2 victory over PEC Zwolle.

That win also forms part of what has been a strong run of form for Roger Schmidt’s side, as PSV have picked up five wins and a draw from their last six games.

Utrecht are also currently enjoying an unbeaten run, as they have not lost any of their five previous games, although four of those matches have come on the road.

It has been a different story for Rene Hake’s side on home soil of late, as they have lost three of their last four matches at Stadion Galgenwaard.

Recent meetings with PSV have also not tended to yield much success for Utrecht, as they have lost seven and won just one of the last nine clashes between the two sides.

The hosts already have their place in the European competition playoffs sewn up, which means Hake could opt to rest some of his regular first-team stars on Sunday.

That could well play into PSV’s hands and we are predicting an away victory for the visitors, although our score prediction of 1-0 suggests it might not be the easiest match on the eye.
