Both Teams To Score - No

Reason for tip

Both teams have not scored in six of Venezia’s last seven home games or in three of Juventus’ last five matches. A tense clash could be on the cards with so much at stake for both clubs and it would be no surprise to see chances being few and far between.

Juventus 1-0

Reason for tip

Juventus’ last three away wins have all been by a single goal while Igor Tudor’s team have not managed to score more than once in any of their last six road trips. Venezia have failed to score in five of their last seven home games, so one goal could be all Juve need to get the win.

Venezia vs Juventus Predictions

  • Both teams have not scored in six of Venezia’s last seven home games
  • Both teams have not scored in three of Juventus’ last five matches
  • Venezia need to win and hope the two teams above them lose to stay up
  • Juventus need to match or better Roma’s result to remain in fourth place

Tudor times are not changing for Old Lady

A tense clash between two of Serie A’s less potent sides could mean a dearth of goals at Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo on Sunday. Juventus travel to Venezia knowing that they need to match or better Roma’s result to remain in fourth place and clinch Champions League football again.

The Old Lady have won four of their eight games under Igor Tudor and lost only once. Their results have not really changed much since the Croatian replaced Thiago Motta in March. although their scoring rate has actually decreased from 1.55 goals per game to 1.25.

Meanwhile, Venezia need a huge swing to maintain their spot in Italy’s top flight. They have to win and hope that neither Lecce or Empoli take more than a point in their games.

Venezia face a difficult task

It is a tough task, but Eusebio Di Francesco’s side do not have to worry about goal difference so they might just try to frustrate their guests and catch them on the counter-attack. It is a plan that may work if Juve get desperate because Roma are winning elsewhere.

Both teams have tended not to score when Venezia are at home recently and that may be a better option here than backing Juventus at shorter odds. The Old Lady have not won any of their last five Serie A away games, including one against 16th-placed Parma.

If Juve do win, it is likely to be by the minimum margin. Their last three away wins have all been by a single goal while Tudor’s team have not managed to score more than once in any of their last six road trips.
