Burnley to Win
Burnley 2-1
Wout Weghorst To Score Anytime
Tip Reasoning
- Burnley have won two of their last three games, with one draw.
- Watford have lost each of their last 10 home games.
- The Hornets have six defeats in their last seven overall.
- Watford have scored in three of their last four at home, Burnley have conceded in 14 of their 16 league trips.
Chance for Clarets to pull clear
The sacking of Sean Dyche has led to an unexpected upturn in form for Burnley and they can put some distance between themselves and Everton with a win at Watford on Saturday.
Everton play Chelsea on Sunday, so the Clarets have the opportunity to really put some pressure on their relegation rivals and it is a chance I’m expecting them to take despite their poor form on the road.
Watford heading down with a whimper
Watford have endured a torrid season and their home form has been particularly poor. The Hornets have managed just two home wins in 16 attempts and have lost 13 of their Premier League games at Vicarage Road – including each of their last 10.
The Clarets have managed just one away win this term but they have managed five points in their last five trips (W1, D2, L2) and have managed seven points from the last nine available, and I’m expecting them to continue their momentum with a win at Watford this weekend.
Clarets may have to score twice
Watford may be in poor form, but they are capable of at least grabbing a goal and they managed to find a way through in a 5-1 defeat at Manchester City last time out. The Hornets have also managed to score in three of their last four home games and as Burnley have just two away clean sheets to their name this term we may well see goals at both ends and a 2-1 win for the visitors has some appeal.
Burnley’s January recruit Wout Weghorst is an option for an anytime scorer bet. The Dutchman initially struggled to make an impact but has managed one goal and one assists in his last three appearances and can add to his account against Watford’s weak backline on Saturday.
Watford predicted lineup: Foster, Femenia, Samir, Cathcart, Kamara, Cleverley, Louza, Sissoko, Sarr, Dennis, King

- Watford’s last two Premier League games have been defeats with both sides scoring
