Both Teams To Score and Over 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Both teams have scored with over 2.5 goals in four of Wolfsburg’s last six home games and that trend should only continue now Ralph Hasenhuttl has taken charge. Meanwhile, both teams have scored in four of Gladbach’s last five matches, which have averaged four goals per game.

Wolfsburg 2-1

Reason for tip

Wolfsburg should have renewed confidence after their 2-0 win at Werder Bremen and can overcome one of the worst away teams in the Bundesliga, with one of the three-worst defensive records. Gladbach have lost six and drawn four of their last 10 Bundesliga away games, conceding multiple goals in seven of those last 10 road trips. But they have scored in 11 of 13 away trips in total, notching exactly once in six of their last 10.

Wolfsburg vs Borussia Monchengladbach Predictions

  • Both teams have scored with over 2.5 goals in four of Wolfsburg’s last six home games

Gladbach’s away struggles could continue

Wolfsburg can follow up their win at Werder Bremen last week with another one at home to Borussia Monchengladbach on Sunday afternoon.

Last weekend, Ralph Hasenhuttl earned a deserved three points in his first game in charge to push the Wolves a little further away from the relegation trapdoor. They dominated a poor Werder Bremen side at Weserstadion and should have renewed confidence for this clash with one of the worst away teams in the division.

Gladbach are winless in their last 10 league games on the road with six defeats and four draws since their sole away success of the season at Bochum in September.  Only Bochum and Darmstadt have conceded more away goals than Gerardo Seoane’s side, who look vulnerable in this fixture.

Ralph will bring risk to Volkswagen Arena

They will benefit from Wolfsburg being without suspended star Maxence Lacroix, who was sent off after scoring in that 2-0 win in Bremen. And Gladbach have been regular scorers on the road, despite their troubles.

Seoane’s side have scored in 11 of their 13 away games and have one of the highest BTTS ratios in the Bundesliga of around 75% of their total games. Wolfsburg are slightly below the league average right now, but Hasenhuttl has only just begun and his record at Leipzig and Southampton suggests more risks will be taken now.

Backing Over 2.5 goals and both teams to score makes sense at the moment with a 2-1 home win just favoured over a similar score in favour of the visitors due to Gladbach’s awful away record.
