Wolves vs Cambridge United Predictions
Walter Zenga is the toast of Wolverhampton right now with Wolves riding high in 3rd place in the early season Championship standings. The Italian is yet to taste defeat as Wolves boss with 2 wins and 2 draws coming from their league games. Their most recent was an impressive 3-1 win at local rivals Birmingham and given the Black Country side still have a host of players to return from injury, it has been a great start. They were also winners in this competition thanks to a 2-1 win over Crawley and will be keen to keep the momentum going again here.
Cambridge are bidding to send another Championship side packing from the League Cup. They beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 in the last round thanks to late goals in normal time and Extra Time when Luke Berry bagged a 118th minute winner. Sadly for them though that result and performance was more the exception than the rule. They sit bottom of the football league with only 2 points to their name from 4 games so far.
It’s still early days, so Wolves fans would be wise not to get too carried away while Cambridge fans shouldn’t be resigning themselves to a relegation battle. In terms of this game though, there should only be one winner. There is a good feel factor about Wolves right now and they will approach this game full of confidence and with a couple of new signings bolstering their squad further. Cambridge are yet to keep a clean sheet this season and that includes 4 pre-season games, so Wolves forwards should get plenty of opportunities and backing Wolves & Over 2.5 Goals at 13/10 looks to offer value here.
