Chairboys continue to go down fighting
Wycombe may well be League One bound but the plucky Chairboys can serve it up to Bristol City this Tuesday evening after some spirited performances in recent weeks.
Wanderers are nine points adrift of safety with just four fixtures left to play, though it’s been quite an effort from Gareth Ainsworth’s side to keep themselves mathematically involved at this late stage having been completely tailed off two months ago.
Wycombe’s last seven outings have yielded three wins and two draws, including a highly respectable 2-2 result away to fourth placed Swansea at the weekend.
A repeat of that effort this week could well be good enough to dispatch a poor Bristol City side who are without a victory in six (D3, L3) and continuing to toil under new manager Nigel Pearson.
The visitors have also won just one of their last nine (D3, L5), so the hosts are worth supporting here with some insurance in the draw no bet market. Correct score backers are advised to side with the Chairboys to clinch the points though and Wanderers are taken to reverse the 2-1 score-line from December’s last meeting at Ashton Gate.
