Eight straight wins has allowed Inter to cruise clear in the title race and second-placed Milan know anything but a win would all but end their hopes of silverware.

Milan can take confidence from the fact that they are unbeaten in six meetings with their big adversaries and they edged to a 1-0 victory in November’s San Siro showdown.

No European football has been a huge aid to Milan and they have lost only one of their last 12 Serie A matches.

Inter did show some vulnerabilities when losing home and away to Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League playoff round and they were frustrated in a goalless draw in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final at Como on Tuesday.

So, with Inter set to again be without star striker Lautaro Martinez, Milan may be able to carve out the victory that will keep them in the title hunt.
