Manchester City and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Man City have won their last nine in all competitions and their last 10 at the Etihad, while they’ve won 12 of 14 home league games this season. Leicester have seen both teams score in four of their last five, but they’ve lost in eight of their last nine.

Manchester City 4-2

Reason for tip

City have scored 24 goals across their last five games and they’ve scored four or more on seven occasions at home in the league this term. However, they meet a Leicester side who have scored twice in four of their five visits to the top seven.

Jack Grealish To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Grealish has been in stellar form for City in recent weeks, chipping in with a goal and an assist in his last two games. Given how poor this Leicester defence looks, back the winger to find the net again.

Stellar City keep treble dream alive

Manchester City are potentially 15 games away from a treble, having won nine straight games to put themselves in a brilliant position. They are heavy favourites for the Champions League after a midweek dismantling of Bayern Munich, while last weekend saw them take the title race back into their own hands.

City have won their last five games by at least three goals, scoring 24 times. The hosts have won 10 straight games at the Etihad, while they have won 12 of 14 home games going into this clash. The task facing new Leicester boss Dean Smith is huge, with the Foxes in all kinds of trouble.

Tough start for Smith

Dean Smith inherits a Leicester side who sit second-bottom in the Premier League, having lost eight of their last nine matches. Since sacking Brendan Rodgers, the Foxes have lost clashes with Aston Villa and Bournemouth as they scrambled for a new boss. They’ve turned to Smith in the interim, just months after he was sacked by Championship Norwich.

The new boss isn’t exactly coming in with a track record, having been sacked by Villa before taking Norwich down last term. However, his new charges aren’t in a much better spot having lost 10 of their 15 away games so far this season. This isn’t a promising pairing, while a visit to City could get messy.

Foxes can at least get forward

The one thing Leicester have going for them here is that they can get forward, so Smith should lean on that at the Etihad. The visitors have seen both teams score in four of their last five matches, while they’ve averaged 1.53 goals per game on their travels this term.

The visitors can pack a real punch, having scored at least twice in four of their five visits to the top seven this season. However, they are unlikely to match a City side who are the league’s top scorers, having scored four goals or more on seven occasions at home this term. In the last month, only Bayern have held City below four goals, with Jack Grealish in stellar form.

The winger has settled on his role in this City team, proving a threat drifting in from the left. He’s supplied a goal and an assist in his last two league games and he can cause problems for the manager who turned him into a star. Back Grealish to score in a big City win, but Leicester should be a threat.
