Valencia vs Rayo Vallecano Predictions

Valencia Hard To Beat

Valencia have lost just one of their last five games, against high-flying Real Betis, and are proving a particularly tough nut to crack at the Mestalla.

José Bordalás’ side have scored in each of their six matches on home soil, notching 11 goals in the process while conceding just six.

They may lie in mid-table in La Liga, but that is largely down to a disappointing away record. Real Madrid are the only visiting team to beat them this season and a 0-0 stalemate away to Real Sociedad on Sunday was the first time they have failed to score in six games.

They look in good touch and are a good gamble to score at least in this one.

Vallecano Struggling On The Road

Rayo Vallecano may sit inside La Liga’s top six, but just four of their 23 points have been accumulated away from home, losing five of their seven matches on the road.

In the process, they have conceded 12 goals while failing to keep a clean sheet. Their prospects of keeping an in form Valencia attack quiet for 90 minutes look bleak.

Andori Iraola’s side do score goals, though. They may only have six of them away from home, but their total of 22 from 14 matches is behind only Real Madrid and Sevilla in La Liga.

They will have their chances to find the back of the net at the Mestalla, but it is difficult to see how they will stop their losing run against a strong Valencia side, so I am predicting both teams will score but in 2-1 home win.
