The bet started off in Russia where the World Cup hosts went up against Turkey in a friendly. It was a very lively game and we had to wait 35 mins until the first goal was scored. Russia went ahead through Samedov and that was the scoreline at the break. Didn’t take long for Turkey to respond, only 15 mins into the 2nd half it was Wolfsburg’s Yunus Malli who levelled the score to land our first leg of the bet!
A similar scenario played out in the 2nd leg in Sweden. 14th placed Gelfe hosted 4th placed Helsingborg and went 1-0 up in the 38th minute. Just 6 mins into the 2nd half the away team equalized which was the final score of the game, meaning we were down to the final leg.
The final game started a bit late in Brazil. It was Juventude vs Atletico GO. The visitors grabbed the lead early on in the 14th minute and doubled that in the 71st minute with Juninho Brandao grabbing a brace. All hope was lost at that point, but a remarkable comeback from Juventude was on! They pulled one back in the 80th minute which landed our Treble and deep into injury time they were able to level the score at 2:2 through Bonfim to avoid defeat in this one!
