42 of the 48 teams for next summer’s expanded World Cup have been confirmed following Tuesday night’s final round of UEFA World Cup qualifiers, and with that, many of the favourites have already sealed their spot in the United States next year.
With this week’s qualifiers fresh in the mind, we’ve looked to pinch some early value in the outright market when looking at the potential winners of the 2026 World Cup.

World Cup 2026 outright winner predictions
World Cup 2026 outright prediction – England at 6/1
England are priced up as second favourites to end 60 years of hurt in the United States, and Thomas Tuchel’s side look decent value to take the final step.
They have finished as runners-up in the last two European Championships and have reached the quarter-finals and semi-finals in the last two World Cups.
Tuchel has a pool of players stacked with world-class talent at his disposal, and the German appears to finally be selecting players on merit rather than reputation, which helped him guide the Three Lions to a perfect qualifying record of eight wins, 22 goals scored, and zero conceded.
World Cup 2026 dark horse prediction – Norway at 33/1
Alongside England, Norway were one of only two UEFA teams to end World Cup qualifying with a perfect record, and the Lovene’s achievement is arguably more impressive than England’s, considering they beat European powerhouses Italy twice in that period.
Spearheaded by the unstoppable Erling Haaland, Norway scored an incredible 37 goals in eight qualifiers and haven’t lost a game in over a year.
Their last World Cup appearance was in 1998 and they have never made it past the last 16, but if they can keep the likes of Martin Odegaard, Erling Haaland, Alexander Sorloth, Oscar Bobb, and Kristoffer Ajer fit, they could be next summer’s surprise package.
