England welcome neighbours Wales to Wembley on Thursday evening, with this international friendly coming ahead of their World Cup qualifying trip to Latvia.

Thomas Tuchel has left some high-profile names out of his latest Three Lions squad, and we have tasked a host of experts to give us a leg for an England vs Wales Bet Builder, to complement our in-depth match preview.

Neco Williams to be carded

With Wales expected to be under the greater pressure and starved of possession, it is worth looking at the booking markets and Neco Williams looks a standout.

The Nottingham Forest full-back has picked up four yellow cards in seven games so far in the Premier League, having only committed nine fouls. Williams was also booked in Wales’ 1-0 win in Kazakhstan so has five in 11 appearances for club and country this season.

With England’s attacking options including Bukayo Saka, Anthony Gordon and Eberechi Eze, all perhaps determined to prove the Serbia rout was no fluke, he is likely to be under pressure all game on whichever flank he is deployed, and could again overstep.

Tom Hill

Ethan Ampadu to be carded

Leeds United midfielder Ethan Ampadu has conceded seven fouls and picked up two yellow cards this season in the Premier League, but he has only played in five matches. At the base of midfield, he is tasked with stopping opposition playmakers and he faces some of the world’s best in the clash with England.

Ampadu was booked during Wales’ 4-3 defeat to Belgium in June and he will be tasked with stopping the likes of Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham and Morgan Rogers in the final third. Wales have picked up the most cards in their last three encounters against England and Ampadu will do well to avoid punishment.

James Milton

Harry Wilson to have over 1.5 shots

Wales winger Harry Wilson has made an impressive start to the season for club and country, racking up six shots in his last three Premier League appearances for Fulham.

Wilson scored in the Cottagers’ 3-1 home win over Brentford and should play a vital role in Wales’s attacking gameplan at Wembley.

He scored in his first two World Cup qualifying outings against Liechtenstein and Belgium and had two attempts at goal in last month’s 1-0 win in Kazakhstan.

Aaron Rogan

Kieffer Moore over 1.5 fouls

Ezri Konsa has been fouled 10 times across four starts in World Cup qualifying, while this friendly pits the Three Lions against foul-heavy forward Kieffer Moore.

Moore has made at least one foul in five of his last seven games for Wales, while he committed two against England when they met at the last World Cup.

Moore has made 11 fouls across nine Championship games for Wrexham, where he tends to get away with more than he does in international football.

Marcus Rashford to score or assist

Marcus Rashford has cut a rejuvenated figure since his summer move to Barcelona, earning him a recall to Thomas Tuchel’s England squad last month. He repaid that faith with a goal off the bench against Serbia, and he has built on that confidence-boosting strike to put together an excellent run of form.

Rashford has three goals and four assists in his last seven outings for club and country, and he has fond memories against Wales after scoring twice in the Three Lions’ 3-0 win over them in the 2022 World Cup.
