England return to action for the first time since their World Cup quarter-final exit on Thursday as they take on familiar foes Italy in Naples in a Euro 2024 qualifier.

This will be the fourth meeting between these two sides in the space of two years and the Italians have the bragging rights at present, having beaten England in the Euro 2020 final before relegating them from the Nations League.

I’ve picked out a four selection Ultimate Bet Builder for the meeting at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in Naples, which pays out at 116/1. You can use these selections for your own bet builders on Thursday or back all four below.

Both Teams To Score

A high-scoring game is perhaps unlikely, but we may well see goals at both ends. Italy are usually good for a goal at home, having only failed to score in one of their last nine on Italian soil since Euro 2020, while England will be looking for a bit of revenge over the Azzurri and for a response after their World Cup exit at the hands of France.

Neither of these sides have played since November and that may mean their respective defences aren’t quite as in-tune as they would normally be, and that could lead to both keepers being beaten.

Bukayo Saka To Score

Bukayo Saka is having a fantastic season and he should be a real threat if he can replicate his domestic form in Naples. The Arsenal man has 13 goals in all competitions and starred at the World Cup. Of all the England players, it may well be Saka in particular who feels he has a score to settle with Italy after failing to score in the shootout in the Euro 2020 final, and as he comes into the game in form he looks a good contender for a goal at any time.

Luke Shaw To Be Shown A Card

Luke Shaw has been picking up cards at regular intervals for club side Manchester United this season with five yellow cards in 22 Premier League appearances, and he has three in his last five games across all competitions. Shaw is likely to be tasked with keeping tabs on Domenico Berardi, a player who is capable of drawing fouls, so he could be in for a difficult evening.

Giovanni Di Lorenzo To Have One Or More Shots On Target

Italy defender Giovanni Di Lorenzo looks excellent value to record at least one attempt on goal against the Three Lions. The 29-year-old, who plays his club football at this venue with Napoli, is averaging 0.7 shots-per-game in Serie A and 1.0 in the Champions League, while he tends to see even more chances for the national side as he averaged 1.3 per-game in the Nations League. Di Lorenzo tends to get around 40% of his shots on target for his club, so he looks a good option at a big price to at least test the keeper.
