FA Cup quarter-final weekend proved to be a lucrative one for FST punters as our top tipsters landed two football accas and a host of bets in three other sports!
Let’s take a look at how it all went on a fine Sunday afternoon:
Two 10/1 accas hit the mark
Our four-leg afternoon accumulator kicked off at 2pm and just a few hours later we were celebrating as all four fixtures cruised home. Here are our selections:
- Arsenal -1 handicap (vs Crystal Palace)
- Fiorentina to win (vs Lecce)
- Napoli to win (at Torino)
- Union Berlin to win (vs Eintracht Frankfurt)
And the results:
- Arsenal 4-1 Crystal Palace
- Fiorentina 1-0 Lecce
- Torino 0-4 Napoli
- Union Berlin 2-0 Eintracht Frankfurt
It was plain sailing in London and Turin as Arsenal and Napoli put their opponents to the sword, with it being more of a case of how many each of these league leaders wanted to score.
Things were relatively comfortable elsewhere, too, with a first-half own goal settling the matter in Florence as Fiorentina got the three points and Union Berlin scoring two second-half goals to take three points from Eintracht Frankfurt.
We’re used to a bit more of a sweat, to be honest, but our evening accumulator provided more than enough tension later in the day.
First of all, the tips:
- Braga double chance (vs Porto)
- Both teams to score (Twente vs AZ)
- Juventus double chance (at Inter Milan)
- Barcelona to win (vs Real Madrid)
And now the results:
- Braga 0-0 Porto
- Twente 2-1 AZ
- Inter Milan 0-1 Juventus
- Barcelona 2-1 Real Madrid
Things started off relatively smoothly as Braga held Porto, and arguably deserved the win after outshooting them 14 to five. An hour later, Twente vs AZ kicked off and an early brace from Manfred Ugalde set us off on the right track before a second-half AZ consolation landed the second leg of the night.
Over in Italy, a first-half opener from Filip Kostic put Juventus ahead and left us needing just one more leg, but that’s where the drama came to the fore.
Ronald Araujo. returning from suspension, deflected the ball into his own net just nine minutes in to put Real Madrid ahead and it took until the end of the first-half for Sergi Roberto to get Barcelona back in the game.
The second half continued in a typically fiery fashion before Real Madrid had a goal ruled out seven minutes from time for the tightest of offsides, but we were still left waiting for a Barcelona winner.
That winner came from Franck Kessie in the 92nd minute to all but end the title race in Spain and land us our second 10/1 accumulator of the day!
That late winner also landed our Bet of the Day tip, while one shrewd FST follower was celebrating even more after combining the two accumulators!

US tipsters land a double of doubles
Later on, we headed stateside for our nightly action in the NBA and NHL and the winners kept on flowing as our US specialists landed four bets!
A goal-fest in Tampa Bay and New York Rangers doing the job against Nashville Predators landed our second consecutive NHL Double tip, while an early period of dominance saw the Vancouver Canucks land our fifth NHL Best Bet winner of the week.
It was more of the same in the NBA as the Toronto Raptors and LA Clippers both covered the handicap to win the NBA Double, while a push in our NBA Best Bet saw the US Sport Best Bet Double land as a single to follow on from our win on Saturday night!
Finally, Fernando Alonso’s hundredth podium earned us a winner in our Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Podium Prediction!
