Before becoming a Sports Journalist for Free Super Tips, Aaron spent three years studying Sports Journalism at the University of Sunderland while taking in the Black Cats' 'glory years' under Martin O'Neill. Now back in Northern Ireland he turns niche stats into predictions for FST, while he's one of the few people on this island who is equally comfortable at Windsor Park and the Aviva.

Liverpool head to Ipswich on Friday night trailing the Tractor Boys in the early standings. The Reds are winless through their first two matches, while Gary O’Neil has made an encouraging start as Ipswich boss.

Andoni Iraola’s side have looked porous defensively across their first two matches, and we are backing more of the same in our Ipswich vs Liverpool predictions. Below I’ve picked out a 28/1 bet builder for the clash, building on the Reds’ issues at the back.

Ipswich vs Liverpool Ultimate Bet Builder

Alexander Isak to score

Isak got off the mark for the season against Nottingham Forest, putting his difficult opener at Newcastle behind him. The Swede has registered a Liverpool-high seven shots and three on target so far, and he’s backed to exploit an Ipswich side that shipped five goals to Manchester United on Sunday.

Julio Enciso 1+ shot on target including woodwork

Enciso joined Ipswich midway through the 2024/25 season, registering 11 shots on target in 13 appearances. He’s been a central figure in their side this term, starting both of their Premier League matches to date.

The Paraguayan midfielder has taken three shots in both of those games, registering a shot on target in last weekend’s meeting with United. With Liverpool looking vulnerable at the back, Enciso can threaten again.

Leif Davis 1+ shot

Liverpool’s issues at full-back should play into the hands of Ipswich left-back Leif Davis, who scored at Old Trafford last weekend. Davis had a second effort on target moments after scoring the opener, and he can get into advanced areas on Friday night. He had 24 shots across their Championship campaign last season.

Victor Munoz to commit 1+ fouls

Munoz made four fouls in his first start for Liverpool last weekend, and the winger looks to be flying under the radar in terms of his foul numbers in his early career.

Munoz committed two fouls in the 36 minutes he played for boyhood club Real Madrid. He moved to Osasuna last term, where he committed 32 fouls across 34 appearances. With Iraola pushing for an intense style of play, Munoz looks like someone to target in the foul markets.

Sasa Lukic to be shown a card

Lukic was a good addition for Ipswich, given his Premier League experience at Fulham. However, the Serbian picked up 21 cautions across his last two seasons at Craven Cottage.

Lukic already leads all Ipswich players in fouls given, while he was booked in last week’s loss at United.
