Ipswich vs Liverpool Predictions

  • Both teams have scored in all five of these sides’ combined games this season.
  • Liverpool have drawn their opening two games 2-2.

Tractor Boys to take advantage of defensive frailties

Andoni Iraola is still waiting for his first win as manager of Liverpool, and the Reds boss may be forced to wait a while longer when they visit the newly promoted Ipswich on Friday.

The Tractor Boys may have been demolished by Manchester United last weekend, but they put in a solid first-half display at Old Trafford before falling apart and that came after wins over Sunderland and Leicester.

They have scored at least twice in all three games this season and come up against a defensively fragile Liverpool side that allowed 2.3 expected goals at home to Nottingham Forest last time out.

Isak could strike at Portman Road

That was Liverpool’s second 2-2 draw in a row and, looking back to last term, extends their winless run to six Premier League matches.

Both teams have scored in their last eight top-flight fixtures and in all three of Ipswich’s games this term, so backing goals at both ends is a strong choice for Friday, and a third successive 2-2 affair is worth a punt in the correct score market.

Alexander Isak has already received criticism this season, but he found the net against Nottingham Forest and has had a Liverpool-high seven shots and three on target this season. He is a good choice for anytime goalscorer punters.
