Before becoming a Sports Journalist for Free Super Tips, Aaron spent three years studying Sports Journalism at the University of Sunderland while taking in the Black Cats' 'glory years' under Martin O'Neill. Now back in Northern Ireland he turns niche stats into predictions for FST, while he's one of the few people on this island who is equally comfortable at Windsor Park and the Aviva.
We don’t have much faith in Liverpool mounting a comeback against PSG on Tuesday, with the reigning European champions backed for another comfortable win.
Ahead of the second leg at Anfield, I’ve put together a 72/1 Ultimate Bet Builder, which you can back below through Paddy Power.
Liverpool vs PSG Ultimate Bet Builder
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to score anytime
Kvaratskhelia’s strike in the first leg marked the fourth successive Champions League game in which he has scored. The Georgian winger was still easing into the side during PSG’s early knockout success last season, but he’s been a standout this term.
Kvaratskhelia scored home and away to Chelsea in the last round, and he’s the standout bet to find the net on Tuesday against a Liverpool defence which simply couldn’t get to grips with him last week.
Alexis Mac Allister 1+ shot on target
Both Dominik Szoboszlai and Florian Wirtz have seen their shooting output drop of late, with the pair both being moved around as Arne Slot tests out different formations.
With Liverpool’s main attacking threats looking a little blunt, Alexis Mac Allister has caught the eye in the shot markets. The midfielder has eight shots on target for the Reds in Europe this term, with all eight of those coming in his last four home Champions League games.
The Argentine has had multiple shots on target against Real Madrid, PSV, Qarabag, and Galatasaray this term. With the players ahead of him struggling to deliver, Mac Allister appeals for at least one shot on target.
Jeremie Frimpong to be carded
Frimpong picked up his first booking of the season at Brighton last month, but the full-back had six cautions across all competitions for Bayer Leverkusen last season.
The Dutchman is set to patrol the right flank as a wing-back, which pits him against Kvaratskhelia and Nuno Mendes – PSG’s two most-fouled players in this season’s Champions League.
The pair have drawn a combined 41 fouls down the left, while Frimpong has committed eight fouls across his last three starts in Europe, excluding a three-minute appearance against Qarabag.
Warren Zaire-Emery to be carded
While PSG draw a lot of fouls on their left side, Liverpool’s three most fouled players in this competition are Ryan Gravenberch, Mac Allister, and Curtis Jones.
PSG’s experienced midfield pair, Vitinha and Joao Neves, tend to avoid cards, so look to the younger Zaire-Emery in this market. He was booked at Athletic Bilbao and Metz in December, while he picked up his third caution of the campaign in February’s win over Marseille.
