Experts' Best Bets: 249/1 Accumulator for this weekend's football

Before becoming a Sports Journalist for Free Super Tips, Aaron spent three years studying Sports Journalism at the University of Sunderland while taking in the Black Cats' 'glory years' under Martin O'Neill. Now back in Northern Ireland he turns niche stats into predictions for FST, while he's one of the few people on this island who is equally comfortable at Windsor Park and the Aviva.

As anticipation for the new football season gathers pace, this Saturday features a range of matches across the world. From the Women’s Euros in Switzerland to European domestic leagues and the MLS, this weekend brings another busy fixture slate.

We’ve asked our experts to find their best bet from Saturday or Sunday’s matches, resulting in a massive 249/1 accumulator which you can back below!

Degerfors vs GAIS – GAIS to win at 17/20 with bet365

Degerfors’ slide towards the relegation zone continued last weekend as they were beaten 3-0 by AIK, and they look set for another miserable afternoon when they host GAIS on Saturday.

That defeat was the hosts’ sixth loss on the spin, with them conceding 17 goals and scoring just three in return in this period. They have won only four of their 13 points at their home ground of Stora Valla this season and have taken one point from the last 18 available here.

GAIS head to Degerfors unbeaten in eight league games and with three wins and a draw from their last four away games, earning them the third-best away record in the Allsvenskan.

France Women vs Germany Women – France Women to win at 11/10 with bet365

France Women have looked the real deal at Euro 2025, winning all three Group D games against England, Wales and the Netherlands to storm into the knockout stages.

Les Bleues came into the tournament on an eight-game winning streak and they have kept that momentum going, making them genuine contenders to lift this trophy for the first time.

Germany haven’t looked as assured as they usually do in the major events, recording narrow wins over Poland and Denmark before being thumped 4-1 by Sweden in their last group game.

With injuries and suspensions to deal with in defence, DFB-Frauen look fragile and France can take advantage by booking their place in the semi-finals.

Stenhousemuir vs Motherwell – Over 2.5 goals at 9/10 with bet365

Motherwell have made a high-scoring start in the Scottish League Cup, drawing 2-2 with Clyde before a 2-1 victory over Peterhead. However, they’re locked in a race for top spot, where goal difference could be key.

Back Motherwell to build on their good results so far when they meet a Stenhousemuir side who began their campaign with a 3-0 defeat against Greenock Morton. The hosts missed out on promotion to the Championship following a 5-2 aggregate defeat to Airdrie at the tail end of last season, so expect them to concede a few more goals against top-flight opposition.

Aidan Perkins

Edinburgh City vs Stranraer – Stranraer to win at 29/20 with bet365

Edinburgh City are bottom of Group B in the Scottish League Cup after heavy defeats so far to Partick Thistle (4-1) and Queen of the South (4-0). The manner of those losses do not suggest they will be able to get anything against Stranraer at home, who have the upper hand in the recent head-to-heads between the sides, winning the last two meetings without conceding a goal.

Stranraer only have two points on the board after defeating Ross County on penalties before a 2-0 loss against Partick Thistle on Tuesday but they should bounce back on the road this weekend.

James Milton

Montreal vs Chicago Fire – Chicago Fire at 27/20 with bet365

Six of Chicago Fire’s eight MLS victories this season have come away from home and they should enjoy more success on the road when they face Montreal.

Chicago have a great record against the weaker teams in the league, winning 3-1 at Dallas, 2-1 at Toronto and 7-1 at DC United last month.

They have had a lean run recently but still average 1.82 goals per game and should create plenty of chances against a Montreal defence who have conceded 18 times in their last six home matches.

Henry Hardwicke

Inverness vs St Johnstone – Inverness at 11/2 with Hills

Inverness have endured a torrid time, but Caley Thistle have moved out of administration and there is brighter outlook for the Highlands side.

Manager Scott Kellacher has been beefing up his squad ahead of the William Hill League One campaign and Inverness played pretty well in a 2-0 home League Cup victory over Elgin on Saturday.

St Johnstone downed East Kilbride 3-1 in the cup opener, but the Saints had to come from behind in that tie and they may find Inverness a tough side to peg back.
