The EFL regular season drew to a close last weekend and the top European leagues are building to their climax, but there’s plenty to sink our teeth into this weekend and once again FST’s top tipsters have teamed up with Racing Post experts to hunt down the best value on Saturday.

This Saturday FST’s Alex Wrigley, Aaron Rogan and Simon Winter are joined by Dan Childs, James Milton and Ian Wilkerson of Racing Post. Alex is the most in-form tipster of the collection with six wins from his last eight tips, but James is well worth keeping an eye on after landing three of his last four picks.

Genoa vs Atalanta – Both teams to score at 4/5

Atalanta are steaming towards the Champions League having hit 86 goals in their 36 games this term. The high scoring visitors are set to continue their brilliant form on Saturday, but they meet a Genoa side who rarely lack a goal themselves.

The hosts have scored in 17 consecutive home matches in all competitions. They’ve found the net in 94% of their home Serie A matches this season and they’ve both scored and conceded 26 goals in 18 home games. With Atalanta’s last four away games seeing both teams score, back both sides to find the back of the net in this one.

Hertha Berlin vs Cologne – Hertha Berlin to win at 6/4

It’s been a difficult season for Hertha Berlin but they showed up when it mattered the most and are now within touching distance of securing Bundesliga football for next season. They beat bottom-dwellers Schalke last time out to make it seven games unbeaten and they have won three of their last five at home, scoring ten goals along the way.

Cologne – sitting 17th in the table and two points shy of safety – have plenty to play for themselves, but they were thrashed at home to Freiburg last weekend and have lost five of their last six on the road. The hosts have endured a heavy fixture schedule recently, but their form suggests they can secure safety on Saturday at the expense of the relegation-threatened Billy Goats.

Bayer Leverkusen vs Union Berlin – Bayer Leverkusen to win at 5/6

Bayer Leverkusen are finishing the season with a flourish and they can record a fourth Bundesliga home win on the bounce against Union Berlin.

The visitors have lost six of their last nine matches on the road and they should struggle to match Bayer’s superior class in the final third. Leverkusen have won each of their last two meetings with Union in Leverkusen, scoring five times along the way, and they are priced generously to pocket three points on Saturday.

Dan Childs

Football journalist and EFL expert at Racing Post.

Brighton vs West Ham – West Ham to win at 13/10

West Ham’s top four hopes are hanging by a thread after last Sunday’s 1-0 loss at home to Everton but they have a great chance of qualifying for the Europa League and can strengthen their chances by defeating Brighton at the Amex.

The Hammers have won eight Premier League away games this season and came from behind to register an impressive 2-1 success over Burnley on their last road trip.

They have made significant strides forward since last season’s relegation battle and look too strong for the fourth-bottom Seagulls, who have won just three of 17 home league fixtures.

James Milton

Football journalist and EFL expert at Racing Post.

Roma vs Lazio – Over 3.5 goals at 13/10

Roma’s leaky defence is no secret to anyone who watched their 8-5 aggregate defeat to Manchester United in the Europa League semi-finals and there should be more entertainment when they face derby rivals Lazio.

Roma lost January’s reverse fixture 3-0 and Lazio’s Serie A results in the last month include high-scoring wins over Benevento (5-3), Milan (3-0) and Genoa (4-3) as well as a 5-2 defeat at Napoli.

Six of Roma’s last eight matches in all competitions have featured over 3.5 goals and that looks a solid bet on Saturday night.

Roma vs Lazio – Lazio to win at 5/4

It is difficult to say that one of the teams in the Italian capital derby have nothing to play for, but that is not the only reason to get with Lazio to beat their Eternal City rivals Roma at the Stadio Olimpico.

The Wolves are out of the running for a European spot this season and have won just two of their last nine matches – against Manchester United when they were already 6-2 from the first leg of their Europa League tie and a 5-0 win over Crotone, who have been relegated an conceded 56 goals in tier 18 away games.

Lazio, meanwhile, have won seven of their last nine and while the two defeats came on their travels, they should be able to win in familiar surroundings as they chase a Europa League spot.
