Out of all the major leagues we examined, the Premier League returned the lowest overall percentage of goals scored in the second half of the division’s fixtures last season with 56%.
Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace deviated a good distance from the patterns however, and 68% of the goals scored in the Eagles’ matches last term were registered after the restart.
Palace’s percentage was in fact, the highest of any individual club across Europe’s biggest leagues.
Relegated Cardiff City, Tottenham and Watford also saw two thirds of the goals scored in their games after half time.
Remarkably, 80% of the goals scored in Crystal Palace’s Premier League games so far in the new 2019/20 campaign also arrived after the half-time break – old habits die hard and all that.

Getafe, Atletico Madrid, Real Betis and Sevilla all posted 60%+ figures for the same statistic last season, bucking the division’s overall averages.
