This is a huge week in the sporting calendar and we’ve combined two of the biggest events into one massive double.

The first golf major of the year takes place at Augusta and Joe Champion has provided his Masters betting tips ahead of the tournament.

We’ve put his best bet together with Henry Hardwicke’s Grand National fancy and the result is the 104/1 double.

104/1 Masters & Grand National Winners Double

The Masters Best Bet – Scottie Scheffler 4/1

Scottie Scheffler is made for Augusta. His tee-to-green game is, by some distance, the best on the PGA Tour – almost a shot better than all his competitors according to strokes-gained data – and his scrambling, which is such a valuable asset at Augusta, is in the top five.

If it wasn’t for the putter, Scheffler would’ve won many more titles over the last 12 months but he’ll have to put up with just 17 top-ten finishes and three victories from 21 events since the last Masters.

Augusta form of 19-18-1-10 is rock-solid and it’s hard to see him failing to contend. Punters simply have to keep him on side even if he’s set to go off as the shortest-priced favourite in more than a decade.

The Grand National Best Bet – Nassalam 20-1

Nassalam was last seen when being pulled up in the Cheltenham Gold Cup, but prior to that run Gary Moore’s charge had bolted up by 37 lengths in the Welsh National on heavy ground at Chepstow and that has to give the seven-year-old a huge chance in Saturday’s Grand National.

Nassalam has won five of his 14 career chase starts and his record when running on ground described as soft or heavy reads PU,10,3,1,2,1,2,2,1,2,1,1,4,1.

Moore’s contender wasn’t stopping when winning over three miles and six furlongs in the competitive Welsh National at Chepstow and the forecast testing conditions will certainly be to his liking. It’s possible that there could be more to come from the seven-year-old and 20-1 looks a nice price.
