League One predictions and best bets

Fleetwood Town vs Lincoln City

FST predicts: Lincoln City to Win

Lincoln’s perfect start to League One may have ended last weekend, but the visitors have all the ability to bounce back with a win on Saturday. They face a Fleetwood Town outfit that have lost three of their last four in the third tier and the visitors should have the upper hand.

Fleetwood have lost two of their last four home league games, and with Lincoln City winning away at MK Dons and Blackpool already this season this price looks very generous indeed.

Peterborough vs Oxford United

FST predicts: Peterborough to win

Oxford were optimistic at the start of the season but things haven’t quite gone to plan for the visitors here. They have lost three of their opening four games and are likely to be on the end of another defeat against the attack-minded Peterborough.

The hosts have won three of their last four in League One and have scored two or more goals in each of these victories, and they have won each of their last seven home league games. It could be a tough afternoon for the Yellows.

Portsmouth vs Doncaster

FST predicts: Both teams to score

The two goalless draws Portsmouth struggled to at the beginning of the League One season seem like a distance memory now, with the hosts scoring six goals in the three matches since but failing to keep a single clean sheet in that period.

Doncaster have scored in all but one of their league assignments so far, but just like the hosts they have struggled at the back and have no clean sheets to their name. Expect goals at both ends here.

Bristol Rovers vs Burton Albion

FST predicts: Bristol Rovers to win

A difficult opening few rounds mask the true ability of Bristol Rovers, but they have started to come good on their potential recently with wins over Northampton and the in-form Lincoln City.

Saturday marks a different sort of test as they face a Burton side in torrid shape. The visitors have lost four of their five League One matches so far, conceding 13 goals in the process and shipping eight in three away matches. Rovers’ winning streak should continue here.

Rochdale vs Hull

FST predicts: Hull to win

Hull look hungry for a swift return to the Championship and put a marker down by winning each of their opening four games without conceding a goal. Unfortunately for the Tigers that ended last weekend in emphatic fashion, but expect a response on Saturday.

They visit a Rochdale side that have lost three of their five league assignments so far, scoring just four goals in total and now facing one of the best back lines in the division.
