Premier League 2025/25 special predictions & tips
Bruno Fernandes to have the most assists at 9/1
Manchester United suffered their worst-ever Premier League season last year, finishing 15th in the table and scoring just 44 goals, their lowest goals tally since the 1973/74 season.
Despite this miserable campaign, only three players registered more assists than Red Devils captain Bruno Fernandes, and the Portugal midfielder should be set for a more productive season.
Fernandes topped the charts for progressive passes and key passes and was second only to Cole Palmer for shot-creating actions last season, only to be let down by many of his attacking colleagues.
But Rubem Amorim has splashed the cash on Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha this summer, while Amad Diallo missed a large chunk of last term through injury.
With more proven firepower to work with and potentially a deeper role to dictate play, Fernandes could be the top flight’s most creative player this term.
David Raya to win the Golden Glove at 5/4
David Raya has won back-to-back Golden Glove awards in the Premier League, and 5/4 looks a great price for him to make it three in a row for perennial silver medalists Arsenal.
Mikel Arteta’s defence-first approach saw Raya rack up 13 clean sheets last season, and his only realistic contenders both have significant downsides.
Liverpool’s Alisson missed ten games last season and does not have the greatest of injury records, while his compatriot Ederson faces a battle with the newly reacquired James Trafford to keep his starting berth at the Etihad.
Rodri to win PFA Player of the Year
When Mohamed Salah inevitably steps up to claim his record third PFA Player of the Year award later this month, 39 of the 51 winners of the award will have come from the Premier League winners, and that trend is likely to continue next season.
With Manchester City backed to reclaim the title, the focus has to settle on those wearing sky blue, and the returning Rodri looks primed to become the first holding midfielder since N’Golo Kante to win the award.
The Spanish midfielder was finally given the credit he deserved in Manchester City’s treble-winning season as he lifted the 2024 Ballon d’Or, and his worth to Pep Guardiola’s side was made all the more apparent as they limped to a third-place finish in his injury-enforced absence last term.
The 29-year-old is one of the few mainstays in Guardiola’s side, and he looks a better wager than the two teammates ahead of him in the betting, Phil Foden and Erling Haaland.
Foden won the award the year that Rodri took the Ballon d’Or, but he looked a shadow of his former self last term and has a long way to go to get back to his best. The 25-year-old also faces stiff competition for a spot in Guardiola’s lineup after the purchase of Rayan Cherki and Omar Marmoush in the past eight months.
Marmoush’s availability could also curtail Haaland’s involvement at times, and, with little in the way of build-up play in his repertoire, the Norwegian’s chances of winning a second PFA Player of the Year award rest on his potential for record-breaking goalscoring exploits.
As the old saying goes, you don’t realise what you have until you lose it, and Manchester City fans certainly felt that in Rodri’s absence. If the Citizens return to the top with their star midfielder holding things together, he will make a strong claim to be crowned the league’s best player.
