For the second successive season, all three promoted clubs were resigned to a swift return to the second tier as Leicester, Ipswich, and Southampton were relegated from the Premier League last season, and the three newcomers head the betting again this time around.
But can Burnley, Sunderland, or Leeds buck the trend and survive a season in the top flight?

Premier League 2025/26 relegation predictions
Burnley, Sunderland & Brentford to be relegated at 12/1
Burnley completed a record-breaking 30 shutouts and conceded just 16 goals in the Championship last season, but the meanest defence in the second tier will face a significantly bigger test in the top flight, and that challenge will only be made harder following the departure of James Trafford.
Josh Brownhill has also left Turf Moor, leaving the Clarets short of firepower at the other end, and Scott Parker’s top-flight record is patchy at best, with him never lasting longer than a year in Premier League management.
Sunderland finished the regular season with a whimper before defying the odds to march to play-off glory, but the Black Cats have sold Tommy Watson and Jobe Bellingham this summer and, while they have spent big in an effort to bolster what looks to be a decidedly Championship-level squad, Regis Le Bris is up against it.
To complete the trio, a Brentford side that have suffered a torrid summer may find their five-year spell mixing with the big boys brought to an end.
Their first blow came as manager Thomas Frank was poached by Tottenham, with replacement Keith Andrews being promoted to senior management for the first time in his career.
Then came the sale of star attacker Bryan Mbeumo, with captain Christian Norgaard, goalkeeper Mark Flekken, and centre back Ben Mee also leaving.
Flekken has been replacement by the capable Caoimhin Keller and Jordan Henderson has arrived to boost midfield numbers, but Mbeumo is a huge loss, and he may soon be followed out of the door by Yoane Wissa, leaving the Bees without a sting in their tail.
Brentford have flourished under the data-driven approach of Matthew Benham to enjoy a meteoric rise through the ranks, but the Bees could struggle this term.
As for their contenders, Leeds racked up a century of points on their path to Championship glory last season, and Daniel Farke has recruited well in the summer, bringing in Lucas Perri, Jaka Bijol, Anton Stach, Lukas Nmecha, and Sean Longstaff. They look the most capable of the promoted clubs to stay up.
Wolves are another club to watch after losing Matheus Cunha, Rayan Ait-Nouri, and Nelson Semedo this summer. Jorgen Strand Larsen’s arrival on a permanent basis will be welcomed, and Fer Lopez and Jhon Arias may help fill the void left by Cunha. If Pereira can find a way to plug the gaps in both full back positions, his tactical nouse should be enough to secure safety at Molineux.
