The Long Haul Accumulator

Tuesday: Forest Green vs Exeter (English League Two)

Best Bet: Forest Green to win

Forest Green are unbeaten in their last 10 games in League Two after Saturday’s 2-0 win over Stevenage and they can open up a 10-point lead at the top of the table by beating Exeter on Tuesday. The Grecians have just one win in their last seven games in all competitions and have lost their last three in the league, so a home win looks the best bet in this match-up.

Wednesday: Eibar vs Mallorca (Spanish Copa del Rey)

Best Bet: Mallorca to win

There are eight Copa del Rey games to look forward to in Spain on Wednesday and at a big price La Liga outfit Mallorca look good value to see off second tier Eibar.

Mallorca’s away form hasn’t been particularly impressive but they have won two of their last three on the road. Eibar are involved in the promotion battle in La Liga 2 and may rotate for this cup assignment as securing a place in the top two in the league will be their priority as they seek an immediate return to the top flight.

Mallorca did the league double over their hosts last season and came out on top in a friendly meeting over the summer, and they can continue their dominance over Los Armeros by dumping them out of the cup.

Thursday: Arsenal vs Liverpool (English Carabao Cup)

Best Bet: Arsenal to win

Arsenal were unlucky to lose to Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday but that performance suggests they can get the better of Liverpool in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final on Thursday.

Liverpool will be without Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, their two scorers in Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Chelsea, as they head off to AFCON. As the visitors will be missing their two key forwards, this looks like a perfect opportunity for the Gunners to take advantage and take a step towards a place in the final by winning the first leg.

Friday: Santa Clara vs Sporting Lisbon (Portuguese Primeira Liga)

Best Bet: Sporting to win

Sporting are having an incredible season and remain unbeaten in Portugal’s Primeira Liga, with 14 wins and two draws from 16 games so far. The Lisbon giants have won each of their last five games and their last 11 in the league, and they should be able to extend that winning run at relegation-threatened Santa Clara on Friday.
