Tuesday – Barcelona over 3.5 team goals vs Eintracht Frankfurt
Barcelona fell to their second defeat in the Champions League against Chelsea last time out, but they responded well domestically and should be back to their free-scoring ways against the vulnerable Eintracht Frankfurt.
The German side were hit for six by RB Leipzig on Saturday and have conceded 14 goals in five Champions League outings, including a 5-1 mauling against Barcelona’s La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid.
The Catalans are La Liga’s top scorers with 47 goals in 16 games, and they should be able to follow their 5-3 win at the weekend with another thriller on Tuesday.
Wednesday – Borussia Dortmund over 2.5 team goals vs Bodo/Glimt
Frankfurt may be struggling, but compatriots Borussia Dortmund have the second-best attacking record in the Champions League and look set to put the winless Bodo/Glimt to the sword at Signal Iduna Park.
Eight of Dortmund’s 17 goals in this competition have been scored in two assignments here, while the Norwegian visitors have conceded three or more goals against Juventus, Valarenga, and Galatasaray over the past two months.
Thursday – Midtjylland over 1.5 team goals vs Genk
Midtjylland are second only to Lyon in the Europa League standings and head into matchday six as the competition’s top goalscorers, which is a trait they have carried over into their domestic games, too.
The Danes have scored a massive 14 goals in their last three matches and have notched at least twice in 14 of their last 18 games, including in four of their five Europa League fixtures in this period.
Friday – Real Sociedad over 1.5 team goals vs Girona
Real Sociedad are having a difficult season in La Liga, but only six teams have scored more than their 19-goal tally and they should bag a couple more against the division’s worst defence.
Girona have conceded twice or more in three of their last four away games and were beaten 3-0 at Elche on Sunday, while Txuri-Urdin have scored two or more goals in each of their last three in San Sebastian.
Saturday – PSV over 2.5 team goals vs Heracles
PSV’s Eredivisie dominance shows no sign of stopping and they head into gameweek 16 with both the best offensive and best defensive records this season.
They have scored an unparalleled 260 league goals since the beginning of the 2023/24 campaign and are expected to fill their boots against a Heracles side with the worst defensive record in the Dutch top flight.
Heracles lost their two meetings with PSV last season by an aggregate scoreline of 7-2, and a similarly one-sided affair is expected in Eindhoven.
Sunday – Bayern Munich over 3.5 team goals vs Mainz
Bayern Munich’s unbeaten start to the season may have ended at the Emirates last month, but they have responded to score 11 goals in three domestic games and face rock-bottom Mainz on Sunday.
Die Bayern have scored four or more goals on nine occasions this season, while their visitors are on a five-game losing streak away from home and have shipped four to Freiburg and Hamburg in this period.
