Content Editor at Free Super Tips, Alex was born in the shadow of Old Trafford and is an avid Man Utd fan. After graduating from university he combined his love of football, writing and betting to join FST and now closely follows goings-on in all of the top European leagues.
With the Champions League drawing to a dramatic conclusion on Saturday night and the Championship Playoff Final confirming the last of the Premier League spots on Sunday, this weekend effectively marks the end of major European club football for the season.
But there is still plenty to sink your teeth into over the next couple of months, with football from across the pond, a fresh Scandinavian season and the annual excitement of the summer transfer window.
There’s plenty going on outside the footballing world, too, with the summer months bringing us two golf majors, Wimbledon, the British Grand Prix and a massive heavyweight boxing clash!
And, as always, FST will be here to cover the lot. Here is what you can expect from our top team of tipsters this summer:
Match predictions & tips
The football schedule might look a bit bleak to the untrained eye but look a little deeper and things are more encouraging.
Of course, while we will be providing in-depth Match Predictions for many of these games we will also be looking into the lower leagues for our daily football tips and accumulators.
UEFA Nations League & World Cup Qualifiers
The top-tier football carries on in international form for over two weeks after the Champions League Final as the 2022/23 UEFA Nations League gets underway, along with some crucial World Cup qualifiers to finalise the Qatar participants.
Wednesday marked the beginning of the action as Ukraine beat Scotland in their delayed World Cup qualifier while Poland and Wales face off in the Nations League, with Wales set to face Ukraine for a spot in Qatar later this year.
England face Hungary twice, Germany and Italy in this period, so that should help speed June along a little!
Of course, we will have full previews for all of these major games in our Match Predictions section, as well as daily tips & accumulators covering our best bets and Bet Builders for the most high-profile fixtures.
Not only that, but our Analysis section will discuss more unique betting angles and boosted odds for the action.
UEFA Women’s Euro 2022
Beginning on 6th July and running through to the end of the month, the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 is hosted in the UK and kicks off with England Women vs Austria Women.
The Three Lionesses are joint favourites to lift the trophy for the first time and it will be televised live on BBC.
We will have outright tips and predictions as well as match previews for every game and a host of daily accumulators.
We have covered the MLS throughout the season, focusing on Match Predictions for those fixtures shown on Sky Sports while also providing overnight accumulators at the weekend.
However, for the summer we will be increasing our MLS coverage, including Match Predictions for every single fixture.
The MLS is currently on a short break until the weekend of the 11th June, where we pick up in gameweek 15 of the competition.
Don’t worry if you haven’t been followed the North American action, either. We will have a special feature to bring you up to speed with everything that has been going on in the MLS so far.
While most European leagues down tools for the summer, some still remain and those playing in Northern Europe will be central to our summer coverage.
The Norway Eliteserien is nine games into the 2022 season and returns to action on Saturday, 18th June, along with the Finland Veikkausliga, while the Sweden Allsvenskan is ten games into the campaign but isn’t back until Sunday, 26th June.
Like the MLS, we will also be bringing you up to speed with all the goings on in Northern Europe with a special feature before these leagues return.
Republic of Ireland Premier Division
A bit closer to home, the League of Ireland Premier Division runs from February until November and provides plenty of Friday evening entertainment.
It is currently 19 games into the 2022 campaign and returns with a full slate on Friday, 17th June.
Champions League & Europa League qualifiers
Real Madrid’s Champions League celebrations are probably still going on but for some of the less prestigious clubs on the continent preparations have already begun for next season’s instalment.
Levadia Tallinn, La Fiorita, Inter Club d’Escaldes and Vikingur Reykjavik begin proceedings on Tuesday, 21st June when the Champions League preliminary round semi-finals begin, with the first qualifying round set to start on Tuesday, 5th July.
Qualifying runs almost every week through to the end of August, while Europa League qualification begins on 4th August.
Betting analysis, features & other sports
We aren’t just limited to match previews and accumulators on FST.
We also publish a wide range of betting analysis and features that delve into the more niche aspects of sports betting.
This summer, our football coverage will include a look ahead to the Qatar World Cup, outright tips and predictions for all five major European leagues, the English Football League and a select few of the more minor European leagues.
Football isn’t our only area of expertise, either. We will have tips and analysis for Royal Ascot on our horse racing tips page, Queen’s Club and Wimbledon 2022 on our tennis tips page, both the US Open and the Scottish Open on our golf tips page and every Formula 1 Grand Prix on our F1 tips page.
Build better bets with our free betting tips, predictions and accumulators, every day.
