New York Yankees vs Toronto Blue Jays Predictions

The Yankees just couldn’t quite get past the Baltimore Orioles in their last series. They scored just four runs in the last two games and failed to take advantage of some mediocre Toronto form. Still, they enter this series in striking distance and they’ll hope that their offense kick-starts itself.

They’ll probably have to find some better form as they face the most successful offense in the MLB in Toronto. The Blue Jays aren’t quite as elite outside of Toronto, but they have more runs than anybody else by a long way. There’s power throughout their line-up and they make pitchers work hard for their outs.

Having said that the series is a matchup between two offenses, tonight’s match-up could turn into a pitcher’s duel as David Price and Luis Severino go head-to-head. Severino was reportedly almost traded for David Price earlier in this season, but New York won’t be bemoaning his presence on this roster right now His rookie campaign couldn’t have started much better with a 3-2 record and 2.04 ERA.

Price’s value comes in big games like this. He’s pitched well for Toronto against the Yankees going 1-0 with a 1.88 ERA in two starts before tonight.

      Three Reasons for Betting Tips

      1. Home field advantage

Toronto are under .500 away from their home field and we think that they’ll find it tough in the Bronx in this series. There’s always a risk that a rookie pitcher is going to get found out at some point, but we’ll gamble on Severino to continue his good form right now.

      2. Yankees’ hitters find rhythm

Price is a quality pitcher, but we do see New York scoring some runs in this game. We don’t think that it’ll necessarily be a wide open contest, but we do think that these two lineups are too good to be kept quiet.

      3. Like New York as a betting underdog

Given Toronto’s road form and Price’s record against the Yankees, we like the pinstripes as an underdog in this contest.
