If there are any jitters for the Mets, they will be now. They’re 2-0 up, they survived Jake Arrieta and now their elite starter, Jacob DeGrom is on the mound. He’s going up against inexperienced and usually somewhat expensive Kyle Hendricks in the late game on Tuesday.

The Cubs need something in Wrigley Field. Their series win against the St Louis Cardinals inspired real belief that a World Series appearance is possible, but they need to win their home games for their to be any chance of that happening. It’s a lot of pressure on the shoulders of Hendricks, a pitcher who does well to get past the fifth inning.

Three Reasons for Betting Tips

1. Joe Maddon

He’s a brilliant game manager and we just can’t see him, from either a motivation or tactical perspective, losing Game 3 of this series.

2. Let down for DeGrom

Picking against Jacob DeGrom, who got the better of both Zack Greinke and Clayton Kershaw against the LA Dodgers might seem crazy, but we just wonder whether there might be a little bit of a let down in this match-up. Pitching at Wrigley Field is tough.

3. Little bit of choke in Mets?

By all accounts, they should be feeling pretty confident about going 3-0 in this series. The oddsmakers don’t fancy it and neither do we.
