LA Angels vs Oakland Athletics Predictions
The Angels are playing their best baseball of the season when it counts. They’ve pulled themselves to within a half game of the Houston Astros, just two games back from the Texas Rangers for the AL West division title. In a division that has had as many ups and downs as any other, it isn’t impossible to believe that the Angels could end up stealing the division title. The Astros don’t only stand in their way for the division title, but they are also the team currently occupying the second Wildcard spot.
Nick Tropeano pitches for the Angels tonight with Matt Shoemaker currently sidelined due to injury. Tropeano doesn’t possess over-powering stuff, but he’s managed to pitch nearly 10 innings over his last two starts and a solid five inning outing tonight would suit LA.
The Athletics have had a poor season and they’re hardly ending it on a positive note losing eight of their last nine. Chris Bassitt is 1-7 on the season and he’s only making his second start since returning from the D/L. Can Oakland get in LA’s way?
Three Reasons for Betting Tips
1. Athletics’ collapse
It’s been a collapse plain and simple for the Athletics, there’s problems in the club house, there are big problems with this roster and they don’t look like a team seriously capable of winning.
2. Bassit injury challenges
He’s 1-7 on the season, which is hardly a good record, but he’s even less favoured in this game (and rightfully so) after coming off the D/L only a couple of weeks ago.
3. Angels’ hitting is firing
Albet Pujols is hitting well, Mike Trout is also on fire, the Angels are on song with their hitting, they have lots of power and it’s showing now. It’s a big part of the reason why they were considered by many to be favourites in the preseason and they’re showing why.
