Hosts to maintain title charge at Parma’s expense

Milan should be backed to be ahead at the break and land the win/win double result at the final whistle when they host Parma at San Siro on Sunday. Milan have been good at home this season, winning seven, drawing four and losing one of their Serie A games, while Parma have won four, drawn four and lost four on their travels.

Milan are second in the league, ten places and 25 points above Parma, with just one defeat so far. The visitors are 12th with seven wins, eight draws and ten losses from their 25 games this season.

Milan are hard to beat, having avoided defeat in 25 of their last 26 Serie A games, and they have been winners in four of their last six. Parma are aiming for a third straight success, but they have been in patchy form recently, with two wins, two draws and two defeats in their last six.

Milan have scored in 45 of their last 48 league games and have averaged almost two goals a game in their 13 Serie A matches against bottom-half teams this season. They have scored in 19 games in a row, including a recent 3-0 win over Bologna.

Milan have gone 24 games without tasting defeat in Serie A, losing just one of their last eight head-to-heads at home to Parma. They have won four of their last six matches and are unbeaten in their last 11 home games.

A 2-0 home win looks a decent correct-score option. Parma have suffered four Serie A defeats by that scoreline this season.
