AEK Athens set for dominant win

AEK Athens get their European campaign under way with a Conference League clash with Andorran side Inter Club d’Escaldes and they should be able to record a high-scoring success.

The Greek side competed in the Europa League group stage last term, departing after facing a tough section against Marseille, Ajax and Brighton. They are in much calmer waters here against the side that finished runners-up in last year’s Andorran top flight.

Inter Club did get the better of Velez Mostar in the first qualifying round but were beaten 6-1 by Hibs in European qualifying last season and look set to struggle against a side that regularly compete among Europe’s elite.

AEK finished heartbreakingly a point behind rivals PAOK in the Greek top flight last term and will be aiming to go one better this time around.
