AFC Wimbledon vs Crystal Palace Predictions

Crystal Palace continued their unbeaten start to pre-season with Monday’s 1-0 victory over Colchester United. Alan Pardew’s men took the victory thanks to Jordan Mutch’s ninth minute goal and new signing Andros Townsend took part in the match but James Tomkins was absent. Palace fans will no doubt be looking for more fresh faces as they try and improve on the form shown in the second half of last season but they will be encouraged by headlines linking them with big names such as Christian Benteke, Saido Berahino and Moussa Sissoko.

AFC Wimbledon start their preparations for life in League One, the highest division the club has appeared in since it’s breakaway from the MK Dons. With that promotion, manager Neal Ardley has yet to bring in any fresh faces, but he is without iconic striker Adebayo Akinfenwa who was released at the end of last season. The Don’s have yet to get into full swing in their preparations for the new season but they looked impressive against higher division opposition when they defeated Reading 2-0 on Saturday.

Palace should have too much for their opposition and appear to be further on in their preparations for the coming season so a Palace win looks the obvious bet. The result should be comfortable so in order to boost the odds without too much risk a Palace HT/FT bet looks the way to go and this can be found at 13/10 with Bet365. Even though we are confident of a Palace victory we don’t see a massive margin between the sides so a 2-0 Palace win can be found at 7/1 with the same bookmaker.
