Alashkert FC vs Rangers Predictions
- Rangers won the first leg 1-0 despite playing with 10 men in the second half
- Rangers have won their last three games in a row
- Alashkert are winless in their last three (D1, L2), and have failed to score on each occasion
Rangers on course for group stage spot
Rangers hold a 1-0 lead over Alashkert ahead of Thursday’s second leg of their Europa League play-off in Armenia.
The Gers managed to secure the advantage in the first leg at Ibrox despite playing the entire second half with 10 men after John Lundstram’s dismissal, with Alfredo Morelos hitting what proved to be the winner after the break.
Alashkert were unable to force any real chances despite their numerical advantage and I’m expecting Rangers to finish the job with a victory in Yerevan.
The Scottish champions appear to have come through a rough patch and have now won their last three games in a row. If they can keep all XI men on the pitch this time they should be able to overpower Alashkert once again.
A 2-0 win for the visitors looks to have a chance in the correct score market, as Rangers have managed two clean sheets in their last three games and Alashkert were unable to offer much going forward in the first leg. The Armenian side may be a bit more adventurous with home advantage and a deficit to recover, but Rangers look a class above their opponents on Thursday.
